Is it safe to give an 8 week old baby a little bit (1/2 tsp) of olive oil for constipation?

I have tried warm water (2 oz) in the last 12 hours and it's not helping. He is straining and pushing and crying in pain. He is usually pretty regular and has not had any change in feedings or the type of formula.
