Sued for Copyright Infringement?

I have been writing some scripts based off of the character, Linda Richman from the skit, "Coffee Talk", on Saturday Night Live. My friends and I are going to start filming soon, and I was wondering if I could be sued for copyright infringement, because I am using the same character, although the episodes will be completely original and made as though Linda Richman has a reality tv show, about her daily life. I am going to put it on youtube.com when its done. Do you think it would be better to give Linda Richman a different name to avoid any problems? Like Linda Rickman or something else?
